Over the past several years, moisture issues have become a major problem in the Shenandoah Valley. Due to the make up of our local soils/subsurfaces and the increase of severe storms and rainfall totals, we have seen a high volume of drainage issues. Every scenario has different factors such as: lay of land, non-permeable surfaces, improper gutter installation, plant bed design, etc. While water proofing companies and general contractors offer big, expensive ideas, we often times can remedy the problem with alternative landscaping designs. While no one wants to be out in inclement weather, it is best to visit these sites during the actual weather event to see first hand what is transpiring.
